Why should I assess client compliance?

From TherapyCharts

Some clinicians like to measure whether the client is adhering to the changes discussed in therapy, complete homework assignments, or in general make efforts towards improving their mental health. When a patient is non-compliant documenting their lack of effort, discussing it with the patient, and noting any concerns in the progress or process note provides a clear documentation trail for patients who may deteriorate, need referrals to higher levels of care, or transfer to another therapist who may able to develop a better rapport and compliance levels.
