The locked field allows a clinician to prevent any actions being taken with a particular patient chart. This may be used to prevent inactive patients from being modified. It also can be helpful in preventing support staff from scheduling patients who the clinician may have terminated with or who are carrying a balance that exceeds a clinic policy or care contract.
